Home/Newsroom/MOCSI/Identifying Resilience Projects in Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands
Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands have suffered devastating hurricane seasons in the past few years. NOAA’s Office for Coastal Management is working with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to identify areas where restoration, conservation, and enhancement projects can have maximum benefits. Lynker team members worked to support this effort by traveling to the islands and holding workshops with representatives from local, state, academic, non-governmental, and federal organizations. Participants provided local knowledge and input on project needs and ideas. Lynker team members also conducted site visits to tour dune restoration projects, a native plant nursery, and more.
